Turn LMI Packaging Blue

Pleasant Prairie, WI – April 1, 2010 - LMI Packaging Solutions, Inc., today announced the launch of their first “Turn LMI Packaging Blue” campaign, which includes activities and events to take place during April, National Child Abuse Prevention Month.

The “Turn LMI Packaging Blue” program is part of a larger Kenosha area program that aims to increase awareness and support of child abuse and neglect prevention programs. The “Turn LMI Packaging Blue” campaign highlights awareness and prevention of child abuse and neglect prevention. LMI Packaging employees, Katie Hamm and Kim Lishamer recommended to Vince Incandela, Director of Social Awareness, that the company supports this effort. They recommended activities where all employees could join together in raising awareness and sharing the message that prevention works.

“The culture of LMI Packaging represents the energy, passion and attitudes of its employees to come together for a shared purpose,” said Incandela. “We are therefore pleased to join the Kenosha community in recognizing the Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention cause and demonstrating that by joining together as a community we can begin to make a difference.”

Every year, LMI Packaging’s employees devote both financial resources and time, to help with community service projects. Both corporate and individual contributions reflect a company culture of giving back to community and keeping "service to others" a priority. “Turn LMI Packaging Blue” activities include tying blue ribbons (the international sign for child abuse prevention) outside the company’s facility on light poles, trees and the LMI Packaging sign; wearing blue ribbons; decorating work areas blue; wearing blue apparel; and promoting activities related to the Kenosha Prevention Celebration.

LMI Packaging is coordinating activities during April to support the “Turn the Town Blue” campaign, which is a collaborative effort made by Kenosha County Department of Human Services Division of Children and Family Services, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin-Kenosha Child Advocacy Center, Community Impact Programs, Inc., Kenosha County Prevention Services Network, Kenosha Unified School District #1, and Children’s Service Society of Wisconsin.
