We have seen an increase in orders to support the Food and Beverage industry to combat Coronavirus.  We are looking to have a weekend crew work 12 hour shifts on Saturday and Sunday.  The shifts are 6am to 6pm and 6pm to 6am.

SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Production Manager, the ink technician is responsible to submit orders for inks, stage, and return inks, control inventory and conduct monthly inventory counts of the ink room. Two of the main focal areas are to reduce press operator down time due to color matching and reduce costs in the ink room.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

*Food safety or quality responsibilities within job. All staff are responsible for reporting food safety and quality issues to those that can initiate action.

1. Stage ink for print jobs.

2. Read and understand the print travelers.

3. Understanding of the GSC Dispensing System for mixing PMS colors.

4. Ability to use and understand the SAGE systems.

5. Interface with suppliers (ink and equipment such as X-Rite and GSC dispensing system).

6. Ability to fill out purchase orders and order inks.

7. Understanding of environmental DNR requirements including VOC data tracking and air emissions impact for reporting

8. Ability to do ink draw downs for the art department in a timely manner.

9. Control and reduce ink inventory.

SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Director of Operations, the Shift Supervisor will be responsible for monitoring, supporting, and directing the work to be performed during the shift, assisting the Production Coordinator/Manager with scheduling work assignments, assistance with employee selection, performance employee reviews, and administration of work rules. The main focus will be the safety, quality management, and productivity in accordance with the procedures and policies in place.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

*Food safety or quality responsibilities within job. All staff are responsible for reporting food safety and quality issues to those that can initiate action.

1. *Accomplishes results by communicating job expectations, appraising job results, and enforcing systems, policies, standards, and procedures.

2. *Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process, monitoring personnel and support resources, facilitating resolutions, initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments. Percent of work day visible on the production floor is approximately 80%, at a minimum completing rounds on the production floor at least once per hour.

3. Completes production thru following the scheduling plan and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, resolving problems (Holds, NCR, CAPA, QRB, etc.), reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.

4. Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests. Examples of this would be the tracking of such items as die sharping, make ready material usage, and efficiency methods for optimal production performance.

5. *Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of procedures, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures such as 5S and incident investigations.

6. Contribute to team efforts by participating in the various functional and cross functional teams to address issues identified, as well as continuous improvement projects, including serving as a CAPA champion.

7. Troubleshooting and monitoring of equipment throughout the facility, in addition to and including equipment used in support of quality testing/assurance.

8. *Team adherence of SQF and GMP procedures.

9. Supporting and monitoring the training of new employees. Providing feedback for needs related to training. Identify areas of weakness and assists with the training of personnel.

10. *Enforces all quality checks. Included in this duty would be the completion and monitoring of NEO scanning activities.

11. Verifies employees’ time and attendance with the assistance of Payroll administrator and HR.

12. Coach, guide, and develop direct reports, create meaningful feedback discussions that support and enhance employee success. Included in this duty would be 1:1s and Performance Management. Support personnel through avenues such as locks/locker assignment, acquiring safety protective equipment and uniforms.

13. Performing Foreign Material audits per procedure and assign/communicate actions required to resolve issues identified.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

All production personnel on your assigned shift: associate shift leads, print team, and die cut team.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years of production or related experience.
  • The proven ability to demonstrate leadership skills, professionalism, and team attitude.
  • The ability to lead and influence a diverse team.
  • Coaching in the moment.
  • 2 or 4-year degree or equivalent experience.

Education and /or Experience

  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other programs as defined by the company.

Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure that the product is printed according to specifications.
  2. Pulls job tickets and verify that stock and inks are available and correct.
  3. Verifies that anilox and plate cylinders are correct.
  4. Sets –up machine: installs anilox, inks, and stock and plate cylinders.
  5. Sets impression and registers to print.
  6. Complete Global Vision scan and obtain supervision verification.
  7. Completes all start-up checks and obtains art approval.
  8. Completes in-process inspections, follows work instructions and controls print quality.
  9. Closes out the job by completely and accurately filling out paperwork and scanning in all labor and material usage.
  10. Washes up the previous job before starting next.
  11. Maintains pH and viscosity for all inks during the production run.

Under the direction of the shift lead, the die cutter is responsible for operating and maintaining a machine with minimum assistance. Also, the die cutter will be responsible for the quality of work and must also have a strong understanding of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures used at LMI Packaging Solutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Ability to read 6th grade level English and understand the traveler.

2. Ability to manage the schedule as assigned.

3. Ability to perform die cut daily duties which includes, but not limited to, being able to setup the die cut scale, retrieve and return tubes and boxes, pull lids, put rolls on and off machines, and adjust die cut registration up / down / left and right.

4. Completes in- process inspections, follows work instructions and controls die cut quality.

5. Ability to complete simple math equations and completely and accurately fill out skid tags, daily paperwork and material return tags.

6. Must be able to clean the die cut machine.

7. Ability to use and understand the scanning system in order to document all labor and downtime.
