POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Director of Engineering, the Technical Services Engineer will be responsible for providing customers, suppliers, and sales force the necessary technical support and information regarding the use of LMI Packaging’s products.  Expertise in LMI’s products and processes differentiate us from competition and facilitate sales objectives.  Primary duties and responsibilities include developing and managing customer and supplier relations, providing on-site technical support, discussing material quality issues, reviewing process solutions, and determining the technical feasibility of packaging projects and materials.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be a cultural fit to LMI including the qualities: team player, desire to learn and grow, glass half-full positive mindset, service oriented with willingness to participate in community outreach activities, of high integrity character.
  • Provide Technical sales support for new and existing business.
  • Packaging equipment troubleshooting and/or other onsite technical support for customer trials.
  • Incident resolution through diagnostics and in-person, hands on assistance.
  • Potential for up to 25% of time traveling.
  • Support Product Development functions and interface with Suppliers.
  • Accumulate technical data, complete in depth reports and present reports to the appropriate departments, customers, or suppliers.
  • Advise teams on issues related to product and customer strategies.
  • Identify trends to formulate methods to prevent future problems.
  • Develop knowledge of competitive products and capabilities.
  • Effective project management of assigned initiatives.
  • Utilize skills and expertise to effectively resolve customer issues and strengthen relationships.

EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE

  • Must have high school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.).
  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college preferred but not limiting.
  • Experience with Excel, Word, and Plato preferred.
  • Technical experience including ability to understand technical reports and data, and technical writing experience.
  • Prior maintenance experience preferred.
  • Ability to identify trends in operation.

POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the shift lead, the Die Cut Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining a machine with minimum assistance.  Also, the Die Cut Operator will be responsible for the quality of work and must also have a strong understanding of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures used at LMI Packaging.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to perform die cut daily duties which includes, but not limited to, being able to setup the die cut scale, retrieve and return tubes and boxes, pull lids, put rolls on and off machines, and adjust die cut registration.
  • Complete in-process inspections, follows work instructions and control die cut quality.
  • Complete simple math equations and completely and accurately fill out skid tags, daily paperwork and material return tags.
  • Die Cut machine cleaning.
  • Use and understand the scanning system in order to document all labor and downtime.

PRINT PRESS OPERATOR – All Shifts

POSITION SUMMARY
The Print Press Operator will be responsible for setting up and maintaining a multi-color flexographic press using water based, UV and solvent inks. The press operator must manage all aspects of the press performance including productivity and quality and must also have a strong understanding of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures used at LMI Packaging Solutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

  • Ensure that product is printed according to specification.
  • Pulls job tickets and verify that stock and inks are available and correct.
  • Sets-up machine: installs aniloxes, inks, and stock and plate cylinders.
  • Sets impression and registers to print.
  • Completes in process inspections, follows work instructions and controls print quality.
  • Closes out job by completely and accurately filling out paperwork and scanning in all labor and material usage.
  • Maintains pH and viscosity for all inks during the production run.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Prior experience in packaging or food manufacturing a plus.
